Wye Valley Tunnel Run
The Wye Valley Tunnel Run on Sunday 19 July 2026 is a set of running events based at Wyedean School in Sedbury, Chepstow. Routes use the Wye Valley Greenway and sections of former railway track. Distances offered include:
- Colourbust 500 m and 2 km
- Valley View 10 km
- Valley View Half Marathon
- Tintern Station Half Marathon
- Tintern Station Marathon
Most of each route follows old railway alignments and riverside paths, giving a generally flat and solid surface with some uneven sections and a short 50 m rocky trail plus a few flights of steps on the Tintern Station routes. The course passes through the Tidenham Tunnel, which is just over 1 km long; tunnel distance varies by route and lap count, with up to 4 km of tunnel running on some entries. Routes are waymarked and marshalled, and GPX files and route maps are made available.
Support includes regular feed and feast stations with water, electrolytes and a mix of snacks including gluten free and vegan options, medical cover, and finish medals. There is a 3 hour cut off to start lap two of the marathon. Onsite parking is available for a small fee and the nearest train station is Chepstow, about 1 mile from the start.
