Wye Valley Tunnel Run
The event takes place on Sunday 19th July 2026 at Wyedean School, Beachley Road, Sedbury, Chepstow NP16 7AA. Online entries close on Monday 13th July. Runners are set off in waves of about 100 to space starters.
Distances offered
- Colourbust: 500m and 2km fun runs on Wyedean School pitch with optional obstacles.
- Valley View 10km: 1 lap out and back on old railway with 2km in tunnel.
- Valley View Half: 2 laps out and back on old railway with 4km in tunnel.
- Tintern Station Half: 1 lap, includes 50m rocky trail, few steps, 2km in tunnel.
- Marathon: 2 laps, includes 50m rocky trail, few steps, 4km in tunnel, 3 hour cutoff.
Most of the routes follow the Wye Valley Greenway and old railway track. Surfaces are compact stone path, some tarmac and short forest paths; the courses are marked and marshalled and GPX files and route maps are published.
There are feed and feast stations on course with water, electrolyte and a mix of food including gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. The marathon provides flat cola on the second lap. All runners of 5km and longer distances receive a large two sided 10cm by 10cm medal.
Facilities at the event include on site toilets, a mobile coffee van and a bag drop. The 10km and Valley View Half are suitable for running buggies. Canicross is not permitted. Group discounts apply for teams of 10 or more. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
