Wye Valley Tunnel Run 2026
The Wye Valley Tunnel Run offers a variety of distances held in Sedbury near Chepstow. The event base is located at Wyedean School, which is approximately one mile from the Chepstow train station and accessible via the A48. The courses utilize the iconic Greenway and include a passage through the 1.1 km Tidenham tunnel.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- Marathon (Tintern Station route)
- Half Marathon (Tintern Station or Valley View routes)
- 10 km (Valley View route)
- 2 km Colourburst
- 500 m Colourburst
The marathon and Tintern Station half marathon courses feature two laps and one lap respectively. These routes consist of a mix of terrain including quiet country lanes, forest tracks, old railway paths, and tunnels. The 10 km Valley View route is an out-and-back course that starts on the "Floral Mile" before entering the Tidenham tunnel for 3 km. This route is predominantly tarmac but includes some forest paths.
While certain sections are described as very flat, the courses also include undulating sections, stone steps, and trail elements. Aid stations are positioned along the routes, with the marathon including 11 stations and the 10 km including one. These stations provide water, electrolytes, and snacks. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and access to a post-race buffet of fresh fruit and treats. Bag drop and parking facilities are available at the site.
