Clevedon Triathlon
The Clevedon Triathlon is a multi-sport event held in Clevedon, featuring a sprint-distance course. Part of a weekend of activities that includes a SwimRun on Saturday, the triathlon takes place on Sunday starting from Salthouse Fields. The event is open to individuals and mixed relay teams, with a minimum age requirement of 16 years.
The competition consists of the following disciplines:
- 750m open water swim
- 20km bike route
- 5km run route
The event begins with a 750m swim in the Marine Lake, providing an open water environment with views of the Victorian Clevedon Pier. This is followed by a 20km cycling leg on a fast and undulating route that loops toward Portishead and back, offering sea views across the channel to Wales. The final stage is a 5km run that combines the flat, paved seafront promenade with scenic trails around Poets Walk and Wains Hill.
Participants finish at the Salthouse Fields. To manage environmental impact and entry costs, finishers have the choice to opt-out of receiving a medal or t-shirt. These items can be purchased as optional additions up until one month before the event. For those entering as part of a relay team, medals must be purchased for each individual member if desired.
