Purdown Pursuit
Purdown Pursuit is a trail running race organised by the Town and Country Harriers at Countess Walk, Stapleton, Bristol. The event follows a marked route around Stoke Park and covers 10 km on varied terrain.
The course includes steep climbs, hard ground, tree roots and rocks. Marshals will be present along the route and the course is fully marked. A GPX file is available for those who wish to recce the route; the final race day route is subject to confirmation. Runners are advised to consider carrying water.
Entry is open to those aged 18 or older. Entry fees listed are Affiliated £14.00 and Unaffiliated £16.00. Category changes align with England Athletics eligibility: an Open category includes male and non binary entrants, a Female category excludes transgender women unless approved by England Athletics, and a separate non binary option is available. Prize categories include first, second and third in Open and Female, plus first V40, V50, V60 and V70 plus in both Open and Female. Spot prizes may be awarded.
Guide runners for blind, visually impaired, or disabled competitors are welcome; both runner and guide must register. Guide runners are not eligible for prizes; free entry may be arranged through the organiser. The organiser donates 50 percent of proceeds to a local charity.
Transport notes identify Snuff Mills car park as an approximate 10 to 15 minute walk to race HQ and list local bus services that stop within walking distance.
