WXT Ultra - Titusville, NJ
WXT Ultra is a trail event held in Washington Crossing Park and nearby BaldPate in Titusville, New Jersey. The event offers two distances:
- 50K
- 25K
The start and finish are located near the camp grounds and the soccer fields off Bear Tavern Road this year because of Visitor Center construction. The 25K course is mostly single track and includes about 7.5 miles inside Washington Crossing Park with short road sections. The 50K begins with the same 7.5 miles, then crosses Church Road into the state side of BaldPate to connect to Pleasant Valley Road. From there the route goes around Howell Living Farm via Valley Road to the Dry Run Creek Trail and on to the Rock Hopper trail.
Rock Hopper is described as the most technical section. Runners access its trail head by crossing Route 518 at the Rock Hopper aid station. The course includes an out-and-back sequence that uses Blue, Red, and Orange connectors, crosses a creek and power lines, then returns the same way before heading back to Washington Crossing Park.
Aid stations are located near the Nature Center in Washington Crossing Park, near the Pleasant Valley Road lot in BaldPate, and at the Rock Hopper trail head at Route 518. 50K cut-offs require reaching Rock Hopper within four hours; the final cut-off from Rock Hopper is 2 hours 45 minutes. Proceeds benefit the Washington Crossing Park Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
