Wulfman's CDT Trail Race

The Wulfman's CDT Trail Race takes place on a specific section of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail located within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. The course follows a single-track trail between Homestake Pass and Pipestone Pass near Butte, Montana. This high-altitude route features scenic vistas and various rock formations along the crest of the Rocky Mountains.

Participants can choose from the following event options:

  • 14k (approx. 8.7 miles): A single-track trail race using a time-trial start format to manage course flow.
  • 14K - Golden Charity: An entry limited to ten participants that includes specific event amenities such as specialized parking and a race shirt.

The event utilizes a time-trial start sequence designed to reduce congestion on the narrow trails and provide runners with a consistent trail experience. The race route occupies a portion of the larger North American Continental Divide, which serves as the hydrological divide between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Proceeds from the event are directed toward the construction, maintenance, and improvement of trails in southwest Montana. Funds also support local youth running programs and regional emergency search and rescue services. The race is held annually near the Summer Solstice to commemorate the local running community history and the development of the trail system in the region.
