The Copper Kings 100 is a 100-mile loop trail race near Butte, Montana, held on June 26-27, 2026. The event is produced by Onward Endurance LLC in partnership with the Montana Endurance Trail Foundation. It takes place in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and in Butte-Silver Bow and Jefferson counties, and is permitted by the U.S. Forest Service and local authorities. The event includes a fully inclusive field with a nonbinary division. Registration opens on Sunday, December 7; the entry fee is $395 plus UltraSignup fees. Proceeds benefit Our Lady of the Rockies, Mile High Nordic Ski Education Foundation, and the Continental Divide Trail Coalition. The organizer publishes a tiered refund policy and offers a full UltraSignup race credit for pregnancy-related withdrawals.
Course and race details
The course is a 100-mile loop that starts and ends at the Belmont Mine in Butte and includes 63 miles of the Continental Divide Trail. Start elevation is 5,650 ft and the highest point is 8,400 ft, with a total of 13,960 feet of vertical gain and loss. Much of the route sits above 6,500 ft. Organizers note that elevation gain is concentrated between the first and last aid stations, and some aid-station intervals exceed 17 miles. The event has a 40-hour overall cutoff. The fastest 2025 finish times listed were 18:29:07 (men) and 22:12:23 (women). Historical finish-rate figures show women have finished at a higher rate than men across past editions.
