Copper Kings 100 : Butte, Montana (June 26-27, 2026)
The Copper Kings 100 is a 100 mile loop run that starts and ends at the Belmont Mine in Butte, Montana. The course includes 63 miles of the Continental Divide Trail. Elevation at the start is 5,650 ft and the highest point reaches 8,400 ft, with a total of 13,960 ft of vertical gain and loss.
Much of the elevation gain is concentrated between the first and last aid stations, and several aid stations are far apart; the longest segment exceeds 17 miles. Most of the route lies above 6,500 ft. The event uses a 40 hour overall cutoff. The field is limited to 150 runners and registration for 2026 is sold out. The race includes a nonbinary division and does not require a qualification standard.
Recorded fastest finishes in 2025 were 18:29:07 for the men’s winner and 22:12:23 for the women’s winner. Historically, women have finished at a higher rate than men (88.6% vs 83.7%), with both groups recording an 85.7% finish rate in 2025.
The event is produced by Onward Endurance LLC in partnership with the Montana Endurance Trail Foundation. The course runs in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and through Butte-Silver Bow and Jefferson counties. Proceeds benefit Our Lady of the Rockies, Mile High Nordic Ski Education Foundation, Continental Divide Trail Coalition, and Butte’s Piss and Moan Runners.
