The Divide Trail Race

The Divide Trail Race is a trail running event held in Thompson Park, Lower Eagles Nest parking area, just south of Butte, Montana. It takes place on the Continental Divide Trail corridor and the Milwaukee Road Trail, using sections that pass through historic train tunnels and across train trestles before returning to the park.

The race route begins and ends at Thompson Park, with the start/finish elevation listed as 5,725 feet. The route reaches Pipestone Pass and follows rolling singletrack and trail segments within the park and along former railroad alignments.

Race logistics and services include aid station support, a marked and certified course, chip timed results with posted finish times, and finish-line snacks and refreshments. All registrants receive a souvenir race medal and lanyard, a custom race bib, a custom race sticker and a Wolf Pack sticker, plus Hammer Nutrition fueling products. Discounted race shirts are available for purchase and may be delivered to a runner's home address via Amazon Prime.
