The Divide Trail Race : event overview
The Divide Trail Race takes place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Butte, MT, with the start and finish at Eagles Nest in Thompson Park. The event offers two trail distances:
- 50K - two loops, follows the 25K route
- 25K - one loop
Entry fees listed are $80 for the 50K and $70 for the 25K. Registration includes a race bib, a finishers medal, a custom race sticker, timing and posted results, and sponsor products. Shirts are available to order at cost.
Course details and logistics
Both courses run along the Continental Divide Trail and the Milwaukee Road (Trail), including historic train tunnels and Pipestone Pass (listed at 6,348 feet). The Start/Finish is at about 6,000 feet. Terrain is described as roughly 75% single track, 10% double track, 10% gravel roads, and 5% pavement. The 25K shows about 2,400 feet of elevation gain/loss and the 50K about 4,800 feet. A full aid station is noted at Pipestone Pass (mile 8.5) and a water station near the bottom of Skeebogan Trail (mile 1).
