Event details

The February Freeze is an annual running event held in February since 2015 at Buffalo Springs Lake Amphitheater in Lubbock County, Texas. The event offers two distances and allows strollers in both races. Bib pickup is available on race day at the lake. The event does not include a race T-shirt.

Entry and participation

5 Mile

Entry fees are listed as a $5 gate fee, $8 for West Texas Running Club members and non-member children age 7-12 (for the 2 Mile), and $20 for non-members for either distance. There is no race day registration and no refunds. Age rules specify minimum ages of 7 for the 2 Mile run/walk, 13 for the 5 Mile run, and 18 for stroller participants. Signup is noted to begin on January 10th, 2026.
