February Freeze

February Freeze is an annual club race established in 2015. The 2026 edition is scheduled for February 14, 2026 and takes place at Buffalo Springs Lake Amphitheater in Lubbock County, TX.

Registration opens January 10, 2026. Bib pickup is available on race day at the lake. Race day registration is limited. Entry requirements include a $5 gate fee; $8 for West Texas Running Club members and for non member children age 7 to 12 in the 2 Mile; and $20 for non members for either distance. No refunds are offered. Pets are not permitted.

Age requirements are stated for each distance: participants must be at least 7 years old for the 2 Mile run or walk, and at least 13 years old to enter the 5 Mile run. Strollers are allowed in both races and those using strollers must be 18 or older. This event does not include a race t shirt. The event posts race results and maintains annual finisher counts for past years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
