HOT dam Races

The HOT dam Races is an annual running event in Lubbock, Texas, held as the 38th edition in 2026 and noted as running since 1988. The event includes two distances and designates the course location at Canyon Lakes, 2522 Canyon Lk Dr at 22nd and MLK Jr Boulevard, with additional parking on the north side of Dunbar Lake.

Entry fees are specified by membership and age: an $8 fee applies to West Texas Running Club members and children aged 7 to 12 for the 2 Mile, while a $20 fee applies to non members for both distances. Race day registration is limited and refunds are not offered.

Age and equipment rules are stated for each distance: the 2 Mile is open to participants aged seven and older, the 5 Mile requires participants to be at least thirteen, and strollers are allowed only on the 2 Mile by participants aged eighteen and older. Pets are not permitted on the course.
