HOT dam Race
The HOT dam Race is an annual running event established in 1988. The 38th edition is scheduled for August 8, 2026 in Lubbock, Texas, at Canyon Lakes (22nd & MLK Jr. Blvd), with additional parking on the north side of Dunbar Lake.

- 2 Mile Run/Walk
- 5 Mile RUN
The 5 Mile course is USATF certified (certificate TX13139ETM). Bib pickup is organized behind the West Texas Running Club trailer. The event does not provide race T-shirts. Pets are not allowed on the course. Strollers are permitted only in the 2 Mile event for participants aged 18 and older.
Entry fees are listed as $8 for West Texas Running Club members and for children ages 7-12 in the 2 Mile, and $20 for non-members for either distance. Race day registration is limited and refunds are not offered. Registration for this edition opens July 4.
Age requirements specify a minimum of 7 years for the 2 Mile Run/Walk and 13 years for the 5 Mile RUN. The event records and age-group results are maintained across multiple years, and recent finisher counts include 260 in 2025 and 253 in 2024.
