Hugh Haynes Memorial (HSB) Run

The Hugh Haynes Memorial Run is an annual event established in 1973. The 2026 edition is scheduled for May 9, 2026, at Horseshoe Bend Canyon, 11301 Gentry Ln, Slaton, TX. BIB pick-up is available on race day only.

Entry and eligibility

Entry fees are: $8 for WTRC members and non-member children age 7-12 (2 Mile); $20 for non-members for all distances. There is no race day registration and no refunds. General registration opens April 11.

Additional information

T-shirts are not provided as part of the race. A course map and photo galleries from prior years are available. The event records times by age group and distance, and recent finisher totals include 265 in 2025, 225 in 2024, and 170 in 2023. Age minimums are 7+ for the 2 Mile, 13+ for the 6 Mile, 16+ for the 11 Mile loop, and 18+ for stroller use in the 2 Mile and 6 Mile. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
