Workington 5k Series

Event Overview
This is the second race in the Workington Summer 5K Series, consisting of four separate races. The event is hosted at the Earnest Valentine Ground, Workington Cricket Club, on The Cloffocks.
Location
The venue is Workington Cricket Club. It is noted that there is no parking available at the cricket club itself.
The Race
The race covers a distance of 5 km. The course for this specific race is Route B. The route is officially measured and certified as accurate by the Association of UK Course Measurers. Registration takes place at the cricket club. A race safety briefing is held before the start. A first aid provider, a lead cyclist, and a sweeper runner will be present. Results are provided by Timing Up North using chip timing.
Series Details
The four series races take place on specific Wednesdays in May, June, July, and August. Runners can sign up for individual races or multiple events. Points are allocated across the series, with overall prizes presented in veteran age categories after the final race. To qualify for overall series prizes, a runner must complete at least three of the four races.
