Workington 5K Series Race 1
Workington 5K Series Race 1 takes place on Wednesday 13 May 2026 at Workington Cricket Club, Earnest Valentine Ground, The Cloffocks, Workington, Great Britain. The event is a 5 km race and is the first of a four-race summer series held on 13 May, 10 June, 22 July and 19 August 2026.
The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers and will follow Route B. Race numbers are issued at registration. A full course risk assessment will be displayed at the event headquarters on race day together with route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate in accordance with UK Athletics rules (permit number to be announced).
Safety arrangements include a pre-race safety briefing, first aid provision from an on-site first aid provider, a lead bike and a sweeper runner. Results are produced by Timing Up North using chip timing.
Prizes are awarded after each individual race to the first, second and third male and female finishers. Series points are allocated to all runners and overall series prizes are presented for finishers in five-year veteran age categories. Runners must complete three of the four races to qualify for overall series prizes.
