Workington 5k Series Race 1
The Workington 5k Series is a set of four races held on Wednesday evenings in spring and summer. The first race takes place on May 13, 2026. Registration for the event opens on March 1, 2026.
The event is held at the Workington Cricket Club on the Earnest Valentine Ground. There is no parking available at the cricket club itself. On-site registration opens at the cricket club on the day of the race.
The Race Series
The series consists of four separate 5 km races. The scheduled dates are May 13, June 10, July 22, and August 19, 2026. Participants can sign up for individual races or for the entire series. The course for this race is an officially measured and certified accurate route.
Event Details
Chip timing for the race is provided by Timing Up North. Prizes are awarded after each individual race for the first three male and female finishers. An overall series ranking is also calculated using a points system, with prizes presented at the end of the series in veteran age categories. To qualify for the series prizes, runners must complete three of the four races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
