Lakeland Paws: Dogs@Dodd Double Header : Dodd Wood
This event is the first day of the finale weekend in the fifth Lakeland Paws series and takes place in Dodd Wood. The course is fully marked and follows a mix of forest roads and trails, with views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells. The route runs mostly on wide trails, though some sections narrow and the final descent is relatively steep.
Two distance options are offered:
- 8K loop with 370 m ascent
- 5K route with 210 m ascent
The race is organised as a canicross format but runners may compete without dogs. Where trail width allows, two dogs per runner are permitted. Dogs must be run in a suitable harness; harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. The event uses chip timing and will be marked, and GPX files are available for download. Entry fee is £20. The minimum age to enter is 16.
