Lakeland Paws: Dogs @ Dodd Double Header
This event is the first day of a double header in the finale weekend of the fourth Lakeland Paws series, held at Dodd Wood near Bassenthwaite. The course is fully marked and chip timed. Routes run on a mix of forest roads and trails and offer views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells. Entries for each day of the double header are handled separately.
Most of the course uses wide trails, so two dogs per runner are permitted on those sections. There are narrower parts and a final descent that is relatively steep; participants should manage pace accordingly. Dogs must be run on a suitable harness and harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may compete without dogs.
Two course options are provided:
- 8K loop, 370 m ascent.
- 5K option, 210 m vertical gain.
