Lakeland Paws: Dogs@Dodd Double Header
This canicross event takes place in Dodd Wood as part of the finale weekend of the fifth Lakeland Paws series. The course is fully marked and offers views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells. It forms part of a Double Header and the wider series that includes Whinlatter Forest and Grizedale Forest.
Courses run on a mix of forest roads and trails. Individual starts are used so each athlete and dog has space at the start. Because much of the route is on wide trails, two dogs per runner are permitted, but some sections narrow and the final descent is relatively steep. Dogs must run in a suitable harness; harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may also compete without dogs.

- 8K loop with 370 m ascent
- 5K option with 210 m of ascent
The event is chip timed and the route will be marked. GPX files are available for download. The listed minimum age for entry is 16 or older and the entry fee is £20.
