Event information

Lakeland Paws: Dogs @ Dodd Double Header takes place on Saturday 9th May 2026 at Dodd Wood, Ca124Qe. It is the first event of a weekend double header and part of the finale weekend of the fourth Lakeland Paws season that includes events at Whinlatter Forest, Dodd Wood and Grizedale Forest. The following event is on Sunday 10th at Whinlatter; entries for each day are booked separately.

Entries open 25th July 2025 and close 8th May 2026. The event minimum age is 16 or older. The entry fee is £19.00. The event is chip timed and the course will be marked. GPX files are available for download.

Course and format

Races use a mix of forest roads and trails. Starts are individual so each athlete has space at the start. Runners may compete with or without dogs. Because most trails are wide, two dogs per runner are allowed on much of the course. Some sections are narrower and the final descent is relatively steep, so runners are asked to go at their own pace. Dogs must run on a suitable harness; harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear.
