Lakeland Paws: Dogs@Dodd Double Header
This event is the first in the finale weekend of the fifth series of Lakeland Paws and is set in Dodd Wood, with views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells. The course is fully marked.
There are two course options:
- 8K loop with 370 m of ascent
- 5K loop with 210 m of ascent
The route uses a mix of forest roads and trails. Most of the course is on wide trails, so two dogs per runner are permitted, though some narrower sections and a relatively steep final descent require runners to adapt their pace. Dogs must be run on a suitable harness; harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may also compete without dogs.
The event is chip timed and GPX files are available to download. It forms part of a Double Header weekend with a subsequent event at Whinlatter. Minimum age to enter is 16 or older.
