Lakeland Paws: Dogs @ Dodd Double Header : Dodd Wood
This canicross event at Dodd Wood is the first day of the finale weekend in the fourth Lakeland Paws series, held on 9 May 2026. The course is fully marked and chip timed, and GPX files are available for download. The route runs on a mix of forest roads and trails with views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells.
The event offers two loop options:
- 8K, 370 m ascent
- 5K, 210 m ascent
Most of the course uses wide trails, so two dogs per runner are permitted on those sections. There are narrower parts and a relatively steep final descent; runners should adopt an appropriate pace for those sections. Dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may compete without dogs.
This occasion is part of a Double Header; the following event takes place at Whinlatter on 10 May 2026 and must be entered separately. Entries open 25 July 2025 and close 8 May 2026.
