Wooly Bully Races
The Wooly Bully Races take place on Amherst Island at a new site on South Shore Road west of the Stella 40 Foot Road. The site includes parking. The course runs along the south shore of Lake Ontario on a revised route that goes west to east and back.
Available distances:
- Kids 1 KM
- 5K
- 10K
The race site is approximately 4 kilometres from the Stella ferry dock. Ferry service connects Millhaven on Highway 33 with Stella; carpooling and bringing bicycles on the ferry are noted travel options. The event is a primary source of support and funding for the Neilson Store Museum.
The race is part of the KRRA Race Series and awards 75 overall series points and 15 age category points. It is also the first event in the Waterside Series; participants who complete the specified races receive a commemorative medal.
Awards include custom ribbons for all Kids 1 KM participants, overall awards for the top three female and top three male finishers in the 5K and 10K, top three prizes in age categories (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+), and draw prizes.
Registration fees vary by age and KRRA membership. The youth run is listed at 13 CAD. Registration is handled through the race platform and closes on August 14. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
