Event overview
Limestone Race Weekend is a multi-race, all-volunteer running event in Downtown Kingston held the weekend of April 26-27, 2025. The weekend program includes a kids 2K, a 5K, a Waterfront 10K, and a Historic Half Marathon. Proceeds from the event are donated to local charities, including the Boys and Girls Club South East and the Start2Finish Running and Reading Program. Registration is closed and there are no race day registrations. The event does not offer refunds or deferrals.
Race details and logistics
- 2K (kids, out-and-back course along the waterfront, start/finish at MacDonald Park)
- 5K (start/finish at Confederation Park)
- 10K (Waterfront course includes a section through Rockwood Asylum)
- Half Marathon (historic route includes running inside Kingston Penitentiary; start/finish at Confederation Park)
The half marathon has three water stations on the out-and-back course at approximately 4 km, 6 km and 9 km; only water is provided and porta potties are available near the 6 km station. Chip timing will be used and results are posted on race day. Pacers are provided for the 5K, 10K and half marathon, with planned target finish times for each distance. Strollers and non-affiliated cyclists are not permitted on course. Race kit pickup is arranged at the Kingston Marriott and MacDonald Park on the days before and of the event.
Awards and prizes
Age-category awards are offered for all distances. Half marathon finishers receive a commemorative medal. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race, with an additional prize for breaking the half marathon course record.
