Limestone Race Weekend
Limestone Race Weekend is a multi-day road race organized by the Kingston Road Runners Association. The event includes multiple official distances:
- Tom Compton Memorial Run 2K (kids)
- 5K
- Waterfront 10K
- Historic Half Marathon
Saturday races use the east side parking lot of the Kingston Penitentiary as the start/finish and include segments through the penitentiary, onto King Street West, the Olympic harbour ring road and the Waterfront Trail, with a turnaround in Lake Ontario Park. Sunday races start and finish at Confederation Park across from Kingston City Hall; the half marathon route also includes a section through the Kingston Penitentiary.
The half marathon has three water stations located at about 4 km, 6 km and 9 km on the out-and-back course; only water is provided. Porta potties are available at the 6 km station. Race timing uses chip start and finish and results are posted on race day.
Age categories and gender categories are specified for each race, with a Non-Binary/Open category added for 2026. Some distances have age eligibility limits (10K: ages 13 and under ineligible; half marathon: ages 15 and under ineligible). Half marathon finishers receive a medal. Cash prizes are awarded to top finishers and a bonus is offered for breaking the half marathon course record. Race kit pickup locations include the Kingston Marriott Loyalist Boardroom, the Kingston Pen, and Confederation Park. Proceeds are donated to local charities and the event works with local training and accommodation partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
