Woods Creek Feet Meet
Woods Creek Feet Meet is a community running event held at Woods Creek Elementary in Crystal Lake, Illinois, at 1100 Alexandra Blvd, 60014. The event centers on family participation and introduces children to running through organized, age-specific races.
Offered distances and event options
- 1 mile fun run/walk
- 5K fun run/walk
- 50 yards kids dash for PreK-5th grade
The event includes a Crazy Cub Challenge that allows participants to run both the 1 mile and the 5K. The 50 yard dash is open only to PreK-5th graders and is planned to take place in the school parking lot after the 5K, weather permitting. Strollers are welcome on course; pets are asked to remain off course.
Awards and recognition are focused on school participants: all runners receive a ribbon, trophies are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Woods Creek students in grades K-5, and Crazy Cub medals are reserved for Woods Creek students. Multiple registration options exist by age group, and there is a T-shirt ordering option separate from race entries. Proceeds are used for trophies, t-shirts, and other event costs.
Organizers rely on parent volunteers to staff the event. Historical participation has ranged from about 400 to over 1,000 runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
