Woods Creek Feet Meet
The Woods Creek Feet Meet is a community-focused event held in Crystal Lake, Illinois, at Woods Creek Elementary. Established to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, the event offers several participation options for families and individual runners. The gathering regularly hosts between 400 and 1,000 participants on a course that accommodates both runners and walkers.
Participants can choose from various race distances and challenges:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
- 4.1 Mile Crazy Cub Challenge (Combined 1 Mile and 5K)
- 50 Yard Dash (PreK-5th Grade only)
The 50 Yard Dash takes place in the school parking lot following the conclusion of the 5K, subject to weather conditions. The Crazy Cub Challenge allows individuals to complete both the 1 mile and the 5K races. While strollers are permitted on the course to accommodate families with young children, pets are not allowed for safety reasons.
All participants receive a ribbon to recognize their completion of the events. Specific awards, including trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in various grade levels and Crazy Cub Challenge medals, are reserved exclusively for Woods Creek students. Registration fees vary based on the selected event and the age of the participant, with separate categories for those 14 and under and those 15 and older.
