Woodbridge Trail Run + Woodland Walk
The event takes place at Alice Newton Street Park in the center of Woodbridge, Connecticut. It is the second annual edition and serves as a fundraiser for the park.
Participants can choose between these options:
- 4 miles trail run
- 2 miles woodland walk
The course runs through a wooded landscape on trails made of gravel, wood chips, and packed dirt. There are numerous areas of rocky terrain and exposed roots. The route passes over small streams and follows the Wepawaug Brook alongside Wepawaug Falls.
The footing on the 2-loop course goes from easy to difficult and technical, with some steep inclines and declines and numerous bridge crossings that are optional. The 2 mile walk is an out and back route to the falls and returns on trails described as easier.
All participants receive custom designed technical T-shirts. Refreshments are provided afterwards and an award ceremony follows.
Registration fees listed for the events are $35.00 for the 4 mile trail run and $25.00 for the 2 mile woodland walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
