About the race
The 14th Annual Vicki Soto 5K is a community running event in Bridgeport at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater on November 7, 2026. The event honors Vicki Soto and supports the Vicki Soto Memorial Foundation's work in education, literacy, scholarships for future educators, and community programs.
Race options include:
- 5K in person
- Virtual 5K
- Kids Fun Run (ages 8 and under)
Registration for the in-person 5K includes chip timing, a shirt, and access to after-race festivities. Bibs and race shirts must be picked up before the race. Entry to the amphitheater requires either a bib or a spectator wristband; children under five do not require a wristband.
Funds raised support classroom libraries, literacy initiatives, renewable scholarships of up to $12,000 over four years, book drives, DonorsChoose projects, and local partnerships. The event lists a fundraising goal of $15,000 and had raised $1,793.38 at the time of posting. Participant count on the event page is 367.
The course is USATF certified. Awards are presented to the top male and female overall and the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 9 and under; 10 to 13; 14 to 18; 19 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 to 79; 80 and over.
