Wise County Turkey Trot
The Wise County Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning community running event in Decatur, Texas, with proceeds benefiting Wise County Charities. The event takes place on Main Street at 119 W Main St, Decatur, TX 76234.

- 5K chip-timed race with awards
Registration information and fees are provided for each distance. Standard fees listed are: for the 5K adults $30 and children under 12 $20; for the one mile adults $20 and children under 12 $15. Registrations received after November 10 at midnight carry a late fee of $30 for adults and $20 for those 12 and under, and late registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt.
Packet pick up is scheduled for November 20 and 21 at White Heat Boutique on the Square in Decatur, Texas.
The 5K includes overall male and female winners and top three male and female finishers in age groups 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. The one mile is described as an untimed fun run.
This is a rain or shine event; in the event of lightning the race will be delayed. No refunds are given for any reason; if a registrant cannot attend, the registration fee becomes a donation. Participants are invited to bring canned goods to be donated to the local food bank for the Christmas holiday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
