Winter Rock Creek 5k & 10k
The Winter Rock Creek event offers measured 5 km and 10 km races through Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. Points from these races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series, and also toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available.
The course is paved and mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5 km is an out-and-back course and the 10 km consists of two laps. Water stations are placed along the courses - five stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7 and 5.6, and two stations on the 5k at approximately mile markers 0.6 and 2.5. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located across from the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results will be posted during the race and final results with series points are posted after the event. Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration for this race.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories from 19 & under through 70 plus; top three overall finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
