Winter Rock Creek 5k & 10k - January 30, 2027
This event offers two distance options through Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, and is part of both the Year-Long series and the Winter Series for points scoring. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Distances
- 5 km out-and-back on the paved course
- 10 km two laps on the same paved route
The course is paved and mostly flat with one considerable hill. Water stations are placed along the routes; the 10k has five stations and the 5k has two, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are located across from the Tennis Center. Parking is available at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center (5220 16th St NW); a latitude and longitude pin is provided by the organizer.
Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for those registered before January 20; extra shirts are available after that on a first-come, first-served basis. Results are posted live and final results with series points are published after the race. Runner tracking and SMS updates are offered during registration.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, plus first and second place in standard age categories. The event is held in most weather; officials may delay or cancel for safety. Banditing is not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
