2027 Winter Rock Creek 5k & 10k
The event on January 30, 2027 takes place at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC and offers two distances:
- 5k
- 10k
The course is paved and mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5k is an out-and-back route; the 10k consists of two laps. Walkers and strollers are permitted. A virtual race option is available.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Winter Series. The race partners with Operation Turbo for charity efforts.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before January 20; additional shirts are available after that on a first-come, first-served basis. Live results are posted during the event and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race. Photos taken by staff are posted the Tuesday after the event.
There are five water stations on the 10k course at approximately miles 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6; two stations are on the 5k at about miles 0.6 and 2.5. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located across from the Tennis Center. Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration for this race.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
