Burke Lake Turkey Trot 5k & 10k
The event offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Held at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA, the course is a mix of paved road and trail. The first and last half mile of each distance are on paved roads. The trail section has some roots and is fairly well maintained without major elevation gains. The 10k includes three water stations at about miles 0.5, 3.1 and 5.7. The 5k includes two water stations at about miles 0.5 and 2.6. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located by the ice cream parlor.
Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical drifit event shirt and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations before November 13; extras are ordered afterward on a first come first served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, with shirt sizes not guaranteed for race day registrants. Registration fees vary by distance and date, and prices increase on race morning.
Points earned count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and also toward the Fall Series. The race benefits Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
