Burke Lake Turkey Trot 5k & 10k
This event features two chip-timed race distances held at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA. The course mixes paved road and single-track trail: the first and last half mile of each distance are on paved road, while the trail sections have some roots but are fairly well maintained with no major elevation gains. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person.

Runners receive a finisher's medal and a long-sleeved technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for participants who register before Nov 13, with additional shirts available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Water stations are placed along each course (two on the 5k; three on the 10k) with Gatorade available at some stations. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is permitted; t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants.
Results and tracking use live posting on Athlinks and a QR code at the race, with final results and series points posted the Monday after the event. The event awards the top three men and women overall and age-group awards in standard decade categories; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes. The event supports Paws for Purple Hearts, a charity that provides assistance dogs and canine-assisted therapeutic programs for veterans with mobility and trauma-related conditions.
