Rockin Shamrock - Long Beach
The Rockin Shamrock is a running event held on the beach path in Long Beach, California. The event takes place on an open course, requiring participants to be mindful of other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists sharing the path. The course is designed as a series of out and back loops on the beach path, which are clearly marked for navigation.
Available distances include:
- 5 km (one out and back loop)
- 10 km (two 5 km loops)
- 15 km (three 5 km loops)
- Half Marathon (three loops of 4.36 miles)
The half marathon distance has a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes. An aid station is located at the start and finish turnaround point, providing water, Gatorade, and gels.
Participants receive several items as part of their registration, including a custom finisher medal and a drawstring goodie bag. The event organizers provide free photos and videos of the race. Results are typically posted online within 12 to 24 hours after the conclusion of the event. A variety of snacks and samples are also available to participants.
The check-in area is located at the tables near 54th Place at the start of the beach path. Parking is available for free in the nearby residential area, or in a paid beach parking lot where fees are settled via a ticket machine.
