The Crenshaw Mile - South LA one mile road race
The Crenshaw Mile is a USA Track & Field sanctioned and certified one-mile road race held on Crenshaw Boulevard in the Crenshaw District. The 2027 edition takes place on Saturday, April 3, 2027, at the northwest corner of S. Crenshaw Blvd and Slauson Ave. The race is the event's third annual running.
The event is open to runners, joggers, and walkers aged six and older. It features multiple heats, including youth categories, open divisions for participants aged 13 and older, invitational races based on qualifying times, and a designated community walk. Youth heats are organized for children aged six to twelve.
An Athlete's Village is located near 3419 W Slauson Ave and provides a warm-up zone, pre-race hydration, and same-day registration. A Finishers Village near the finish line on Crenshaw Blvd between W. Vernon Ave and Homeland Dr. hosts race partners, community organizations, local businesses, food, music, and post-race gathering.
USATF & Hershey's RunJumpThrow runs alongside the race. That program offers age‑appropriate movement activities for children aged six to twelve and takes place near Leimert Park Plaza. The Crenshaw Mile also hosts the USATF Southern California 1‑Mile Championship as part of the SoCal Road Running Grand Prix Series; active USATF membership is required for championship scoring and awards.
