The Windham Center 5K In Memory of Elliot P. Fogg (1929-1999) is a 5K run/walk scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026 in Windham, Maine. The race starts and finishes at Windham Town Hall, located at the corner of School Road and Windham Center Road (8 School Rd, Windham, ME 04062). Proceeds from the event support the American Lung Association of Maine. The event honors Elliot P. Fogg, a World War II veteran, horse racer, and longtime custodian at Windham High School from March 1974 until June 1999; he died of lung cancer on July 24, 1999.
Registration, awards and policies
Entry prices listed for the 5K include a Wicked Early Bird rate of $26 through October 17, an Early Bird rate of $29 through May 1, a higher late registration fee of $34 thereafter, and a race-day fee of $39. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by June 15, subject to availability. The race offers cash prizes to overall male and female winners, ten-year age-category awards from 14 & under through 80 & over, and awards for top running club, corporate team, and open team of four or more. Course records shown include a male record of 16:15 (2018) and a female record of 17:52 (2017). The organizer’s no-refund policy is stated; in case of catastrophic weather, a public health crisis, or events beyond management control the race may be moved to an alternate date or converted to a virtual event.
