Windham Center 5K

The Windham Center 5K is a running and walking event held in Windham, Maine. The race honors the memory of Elliot P. Fogg, a World War II veteran and longtime custodian at Windham High School. The event serves as a fundraiser, with donations made to the American Lung Association of Maine.

Participants gather at the Windham Town Hall, located at the corner of School Road and Windham Center Road. The race follows a 5K course that is open to both runners and walkers. Technical shirts are provided to participants who register by mid-June, while supplies last for those registering later. Following the completion of the event, a complimentary dinner is provided to participants by a local Windham establishment.

The event recognizes performance across various categories. Cash prizes are awarded to the overall male and female winners. Additionally, awards are presented in ten-year age categories ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over. Competitive groups can also participate in team categories, including Top Running Club, Corporate Team, and Open Team for groups of four or more members.

Male course records currently stand at 16:15, while the female course record is 17:52. In the event of extreme weather or other major disruptions, race management may reschedule the event or transition it to a virtual format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
