Windham Center 5K In Memory of Elliot P Fogg (1929-1999)
The Windham Center 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Windham, Maine. The event is based at Windham Town Hall (8 School Rd) at the corner of School Rd and Windham Center Rd. Donations from the event are made to the American Lung Association of Maine. The race is held in memory of Elliot P. Fogg, a World War II veteran, horse racer, and long-time custodian at Windham High School from March 1974 until June 1999; he died of lung cancer on July 24, 1999.
Entry, awards and policies
Entry fees are tiered: a "Wicked Early Bird" rate of $26 is offered through October 17 (Elliot's birthday), an early bird rate of $29 is available through May 1, with a higher fee thereafter; the race day registration fee is $39. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by June 15, subject to availability. Awards include cash prizes for overall male and female winners, ten-year age-category awards from 14 & under through 80 & over, and recognition for top running club, corporate team, and open team of four or more members. The event policy states there are no refunds. If catastrophic weather, a public health crisis, or other events beyond management control prevent the in-person race, organizers will attempt an alternate date or convert the event to a virtual format where participants submit their results.
