Windham Center 5K In Memory of Elliot P Fogg (1929-1999)
The Windham Center 5K is a community run/walk held in Windham, Maine, at Windham Town Hall on the corner of School Road and Windham Center Road. The event is presented in memory of Elliot P. Fogg, a World War II veteran, horse racer, and longtime custodian at Windham High School who died of lung cancer in 1999. Walkers are welcome.
The event features a 5K distance. Registration fees follow a tiered schedule: $26 Wicked Early Bird through October 17, $29 Early Bird through May 1, $34 thereafter, and $39 on race day. Shirts are guaranteed through June 15 while supplies last. A donation will be made to the American Lung Association of Maine. Corsetti's Windham provides a free dinner for participants.
Awards include cash prizes for overall male and female winners and ten-year age category awards from 14 & Under through 80 & Over. Additional awards recognize top running club, corporate team, and open team entries of four or more members.
The event policy states no refunds. If catastrophic weather, a public health crisis, or other extreme events prevent holding the race as planned, organizers will attempt to reschedule; if rescheduling is not possible the event may be converted to a virtual format where participants run the course independently and submit results.
