Winchester Trail Run : Sparsholt College, Winchester, Hampshire
The Winchester Trail Run is an off-road event set in the Hampshire countryside around Farley Mount. The course uses tracks, bridleways, and footpaths and combines tree-lined sections with open views over the surrounding countryside.
Runners can choose between two route lengths:
- 21.4k Half Marathon with 248m elevation gain
- 12.1k Trail Run with 144m elevation gain
The terrain is described as rolling rather than steep, with a small climb up to Farley Mount on the Half Marathon route. The event starts from Sparsholt College, which provides plentiful hard-standing parking and venue facilities.
Entries include chip timing, a high-quality finisher medal, a personalised certificate, on-course refreshments and water stations, first aid cover, friendly marshals, and a finisher’s drink and goodies. The course is waymarked using pink arrows and tape and hazards are signed with caution markers. The organiser requests reusable cups or bottles as the event operates plastic-free at refreshment points.
The event states it welcomes new runners and offers two distance options. The race provides support on course and a finish-area experience that includes a medal and post-race refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
