Winchester Trail Run (Sparsholt, Hampshire)
The Winchester Off-Road Run returns for its sixth year. The event is based at Sparsholt College, just outside Winchester, with plentiful hard-standing parking. More than 1,000 participants took part in the event last year.
The route uses tracks, bridleways and footpaths around Farley Mount. The terrain is described as rolling rather than hilly and includes tree-lined sections, open vistas over the Hampshire countryside and a small climb to Farley Mount on the half marathon route.
Distances offered:
- 21.4 km Half Marathon, 248 m elevation gain
- 12.1 km Trail, 144 m elevation gain
Entries include chip timing, a finisher medal, a refreshing drink, finisher goodies and a personalised certificate. The event provides first aid cover, on-course water stations and encouraging marshals. The course is waymarked with pink arrows and pink tape, and hazards or road junctions are signed with caution notices. Dogs are not allowed at the event.
