Winchester Trail Run : Winchester, Hampshire
The Winchester Trail Run is an off-road event set in the Hampshire countryside just outside Winchester, with routes that use tracks, bridleways and footpaths around Farley Mount. The course is described as rolling rather than hilly, with tree-lined sections, open vistas over the countryside and a short climb up to Farley Mount on the half marathon route. The event starts and finishes at Sparsholt College, which offers plentiful hard-standing parking.
Two distances are offered:
- 21.4k Half Marathon
- 12.1k Medium Route
Entries include chip timing, a high-quality finisher medal, a finisher goodie and refreshing drink, a personalised certificate, on-course refreshments and first aid cover. The route is fully signed and marshalled, with course photographers on race day. The organiser notes a refillable water station policy and asks participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle.
Age rules: the event is open to participants aged 17 and over; runners aged 12 to 16 may take part only when accompanied by a paying, participating adult. Dogs, buggies and child running carriers are not permitted on the course or in the event village. A bag drop service is available. The event has attracted over 1,000 participants in previous years.
