Winchester Half Marathon
The Winchester Half Marathon is scheduled for 20 September 2026 and takes place in Winchester city centre, with the course starting and finishing outside the Guildhall. The route passes through surrounding countryside and several local landmarks, including St Catherine's Hill, Winchester Cathedral and a statue of King Alfred the Great. The course also includes sections through the village of Hursley.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- Half Marathon
- Kids Fun Run (1 km)
- Virtual Half Marathon
Entry pricing is listed from £8.00 to £38.00 depending on the option chosen. Volunteer marshalling is organised for the event; volunteers receive a credit voucher and community groups can earn a £200 donation for taking part as marshals. Organisers provide information about road closures and local access for the day.
Organisers ask participants to observe a Code of Conduct that promotes respectful behaviour and good sportsmanship. There is no official parking provided by the event; a nearby multi storey car park is about a five minute walk from the start and is free on Sundays.
