Winchester Half Marathon
The Winchester Half Marathon takes place on 20 September 2026 in Winchester city centre, organised by Challenging Events Ltd. The course starts and finishes outside the Guildhall and follows a route through surrounding countryside that passes landmarks such as St Catherine's Hill, Winchester Cathedral and a statue of King Alfred the Great. The route also goes near the village of Hursley.
Event options include a Half Marathon, a Kids Fun Run of 1 km, and a Virtual Half Marathon entry. Road closures are in place on race day and maps and closure information are provided by the organiser. The event materials encourage respect and good sportsmanship and reference a Code of Conduct for participants.
Volunteer marshalling is organised for the event; volunteers receive a credit voucher to use with the organiser and community groups can earn a £200 donation for their club or group. The event lists local sponsors and several charities involved in the year shown, including Phillips Law, Key Changes, Winchester Youth Counselling and Hampshire Hospitals Charity.
Practical notes on location mention Winchester city centre and nearby parking options, including a multi storey car park within walking distance that is free on Sundays. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
