Wimbleball Lake Triathlon
The Wimbleball Lake Triathlon takes place at Wimbleball Lake and the Wimbleball Lake Activities Centre near Dulverton on 29 August 2027. A permit is in progress for the event.
The swim stages are held in the lake as open water swims where swimming is not normally permitted. Bike courses run on quiet, undulating local roads on tarmac and use one or two laps depending on the chosen race. Run courses vary by race and include tarmac and trail sections with lake views and a few short climbs.
Race distances include:
- Middle Distance: 1.9 km swim, 93 km bike, 21 km run
- Standard Olympic: 1.5 km swim, 45 km bike, 10.5 km run
- Sprint Distance: 750 m swim, 18 km bike, 5 km run
- Standard Aquabike: 1500 m swim, 45 km bike
The event provides camping close to the main event area and space for transition, an event village and the finish area. Facilities listed for the event include accessible toilets and showers, aid stations, chip timing, numbered racking, parking, catering, and finishers medals.
