Taunton Half Marathon and Kids Kilometre Fun Run
Taunton Half Marathon and Kids Kilometre Fun Run is a town centre road event organised by Active South West. The race headquarters, start and finish are based in Taunton town centre, with runners finishing along North Street with a view of the Market House. The organisers moved the race to the centre to increase spectator access and community focus. The town centre will be closed to traffic for runner and spectator safety.
The event continues a long local tradition and is run by a new directorial team with experience in trail events. The programme includes two races:
- Half Marathon
- Kids Kilometre Fun Run
All finishers in both races receive a medal. The half marathon has a four hour cut off. Awards are given by gender in these age categories: Open (under 30), V40, V50, V60 and V70. The event is permitted by England Athletics via the Run Events programme and results are published on the Power of 10 portal. The race is governed by UK Athletics rules for road races; the rules include restrictions on in ear or covered ear headphones while allowing bone conducting headphones under UKA Rule T55. Bib numbers must be worn on the front of the torso with the full number visible to avoid disqualification.
Entry offers vary by category with a range of advertised prices. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
