Taunton Half Marathon and Kids Kilometre Fun Run
The event stages a road half marathon and a separate Kids Kilometre fun run in Taunton Town Centre with race headquarters, start and finish located in the town centre. Runners finish along North Street with the Market House landmark in view and the town centre will be closed to traffic for participant and spectator safety.
Organisers intend to continue the event's established history while introducing elements from their experience of trail events to foster a community atmosphere alongside standard road race arrangements. The Kids Kilometre will start shortly after the main race and use the same start and finish area.
Both races will issue a special 40th edition medal to finishers. The half marathon has a cut off time of four hours. The event is permitted by England Athletics via the Run Events programme, with results posted on the Power of 10 portal, and is governed by UK Athletics rules for road races. The organisers do not allow the use of in ear or covered ear headphones but permit bone conducting headphones in line with UKA Rule T55.
