Wellington Monument Race

Taunton Athletic Club hosts the Wellington Monument Race in Hemyock, Devon. The route covers just over 10 kilometres (about 6.27 miles) with chip timing. The course climbs to the Wellington Monument at its halfway point, then returns along the same road to finish at Hemyock Primary School.

It is undulating and scenic, with about a mile of firm stone track and a steep ascent and descent of roughly half a mile; the hills are unsuitable for wheelchairs. A finisher award, refreshments, changing areas and toilets are provided. Prizes include overall podiums, age categories, and local winners; entry is limited to 300.
