Event details

The Wellington Monument Race is a road race organised by Taunton Athletic Club in Hemyock, Devon. The course is just over 10 km: 10,090 metres (about 10.09 km / 6.27 miles). The route starts in the village square by the Catherine Wheel pub, climbs to and circles the Wellington Monument at the half way point, then returns along the same road to finish at Hemyock Primary School. The course is undulating and hilly and is described as rural and scenic. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs. Chip timing will be used. The race limit is 300 and the minimum entry age is 16. The cut-off for finishers is 1.5 hours.

Entry, prizes, facilities and rules

Entries open 6 June 2025 and close 8 December 2025. Entry fees are: Affiliated £21.40 and Unaffiliated £23.50. Race day entries are allowed if places remain at a higher fee. Race numbers are collected at the race HQ on the morning of the event. No refunds are provided. Results and race information will be published via the host club’s race link. A finisher reward, likely a medal, will be given. Prizes are awarded 1st to 3rd overall male and female, first in each age class (excluding overall top three), first local male and female, and a team shield. Refreshments will be available before and after the race. Changing areas and toilets are provided; there are no shower facilities. Strictly no earphones in line with EA rules.
