Event overview
The Wellington Monument Race on 14 December 2025 is organised by Taunton Athletic Club in Hemyock, Devon. The course distance is just over 10 km - listed as 6.27 miles (10,090 metres). The route starts in the village square by the Catherine Wheel pub, climbs to and circles the Wellington Monument at the halfway point, then returns along the same road to finish at Hemyock Primary School. The course is described as undulating, hilly and rural; it is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Chip timing will be used and finishers will receive a post-race reward, likely a medal.
Entries, facilities and rules
Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £21.40 and Unaffiliated £23.50, with entries available via FullonSport until 8 December 2025. The race has a maximum field of 300 and a minimum age of 16. The organiser states a cut-off time for finishers of 1.5 hours. No refunds will be provided. England Athletics licence number 29800 applies.
Refreshments will be available before and after the race. Changing areas and toilets are provided but there are no shower facilities. Strictly no earphones are allowed in accordance with England Athletics rules. Prizes include overall male and female placings, age-class awards, local prizes for Hemyock, and a team award - the John Cooksley Memorial Challenge Shield.
