Wilmington All-Female Running Event
The Wilma Dash is an all-female race held in Wilmington, North Carolina, organized in partnership with Wilma Magazine. The event serves as a fundraiser for the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, which works toward dementia research and support. Participants have the choice between two formats:
- 5K: A timed 3.1 mile race that begins inside the Wilmington Convention Center. Participants may choose to run or walk the course.
- 5K Virtual: A remote option that allows participants to complete the 3.1 mile distance at any location. Results for the virtual race are submitted online between May 8 and May 10.
The event features a start and finish line located within a 30,000 square foot expo hall at the Wilmington Convention Center. This indoor space hosts an associated Health Fest concurrently with the race. Registration for the run includes access to this festival, which features dozens of local health and wellness exhibitors, food, and beverages.
Teams of 10 or more participants are eligible for group discounts if arranged before registration. The venue offers several parking options, including the Convention Center Deck, the Nutt Street Parking Deck, and the Hanover Street Parking Deck.
