Event Details
The Island Montessori Tinted Turtle Trot is the 11th annual edition of this event. It takes place at Mike Chappell Park in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. The event includes three different races:
- A 5K run
- A 1-Mile run
- A Kids' Dash
Registration and Fees
Registration is open for the event. A "no-shirt" registration option is available for a $5 discount on the standard fee. Team discounts are offered for school, athletic, corporate, and community groups.
The registration fees are tiered, with early registration offering the lowest price. Participants who register by April 5 are guaranteed a shirt in their selected size.
5K Fees:
- $30 until April 5
- $35 from April 6 to April 25
- $40 on the event day
1-Mile Fees:
- $20 until April 5
- $25 from April 6 until the event day
Kids' Dash Fees:
- $10 (includes a shirt)
- $5 (no shirt)
Awards and Post-Race
An awards ceremony for all races is scheduled to begin after the 5K at an After Race Party hosted at Good Hops Brewing in Carolina Beach. Food will be available for purchase at the party.
Awards are given for the 5K and 1-Mile events for overall male and female finishers (1st-3rd place) and for various age groups. All Kids' Dash participants receive a finisher's ribbon. Team awards are also presented for the largest team and the team that raises the most funds.
Beneficiary and Timing
The proceeds from the event benefit Island Montessori School, which provides free public Montessori education in New Hanover County. The races are professionally timed by Run the East, LLC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
