Willie Stargell 5K Road Race Presented by nCino
The event takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Mayfaire Town Center in Wilmington, North Carolina (890 Town Center Dr.). The race raises funds for the Willie Stargell Foundation to support research, patient care, and treatment for people living with kidney disease. Registration opens January 14, 2026. A virtual 5K option is offered.
Course, distances and awards
The course is a flat, paved road route around Mayfaire Town Center with little road traffic. The course is stroller and wheelchair friendly. Dogs are not allowed on the course. All finishers in the 5K and 1 Mile receive a finisher medal. All participants receive a ticket to the awards brunch at Coquina Fish Bar next to the Mayfaire Regal Theater.

5K awards include top overall male and female, top masters male and female, and age group awards across multiple age categories. The 1 Mile awards recognize the fastest boy and fastest girl ages 12 and under. A Willie Stargell #8 baseball hat is available while supplies last; registration by March 14, 2026 guarantees a hat.
