Event Overview
The Pirate 5K & 13.1M takes place in Wilmington, North Carolina at Halyburton Park. The event offers two distance options: a 5K and a Half Marathon. Both races start together.
Course Details
The courses are out-and-back loops on shared routes. The 5K uses a 1.56-mile out-and-back segment, which participants complete twice to reach the 5K distance. The Half Marathon uses a 2.18-mile out-and-back segment, which participants complete six times to reach the 13.1-mile distance. There is an overall time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for the course.
Registration and Logistics
All participants must register online via RunSignup; no on-site registration is available. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race start and concludes 10 minutes before the start. The event features finisher medals and a separate gear shop. A best costume competition and an awards system are also part of the event.
