Event Overview
The Pirate 5K & 13.1M is a local road running event organized by US Road Running and held at Halyburton Park in Wilmington, North Carolina. This event features themed participation and multiple distance options on out-and-back courses. Registration is conducted exclusively through RunSignup, and there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event.
Distances
- 5K: Participants complete an out-and-back loop twice on a course measuring 0.78 miles for the initial leg.
- Half Marathon: Runners complete an out-and-back loop six times on a course measuring 1.09 miles for the initial leg.
Race Details
The event has a maximum course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. All participants who complete their chosen distance will receive a finisher medal. While not mandatory, participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and there is a dedicated award for the best costume presented at the start of the race. Individual results contribute to the US Road Running race series points system.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available at the race location starting 30 minutes before the event begins and concludes 10 minutes prior to the start.
