Wildwood Canyon Trail Run : Yucaipa, CA
Wildwood Canyon Trail Run is a trail running event held at Wildwood Canyon State Park (12241 Canyon Dr., Yucaipa, CA). The event is in its second year and uses a 3.7 mile loop with almost 600 feet of vertical gain per loop. Runners in the main event have a fixed race duration to complete as many loops as possible; the final loop must be started by the time limit set for the race.
The event offers two formats and on-course support. An aid station at the start/finish provides water, soda, electrolytes, watermelon, chips, and Thunderbird Bars, and there is an additional water station at the course high point. Multiple vendors will be present and a live Bluegrass band performs in the morning during check-in. Spectators are welcome.
An afterparty is scheduled at Hops and Spokes Brewery in Yucaipa following the race. A course map is provided by the organizer. The shorter event follows the same loop used for the longer race and emphasizes rolling climbs, ridgeline views, and singletrack terrain.
