Wildwood Canyon Trail Run
Wildwood Canyon Trail Run takes place in Wildwood Canyon State Park in Yucaipa, California. The event returns for its second year on a 3.7 mile loop that has almost 600 ft of vertical gain per loop. Runners in the 8 hour event attempt as many loops as possible within the allotted time; the last loop must be started by the 7 hour and 15 minute mark to be counted as a final loop.
The race course includes rolling climbs, smooth stretches, punchy hills and sections of singletrack. The 6K follows the same loop and covers roughly one full circuit of the trail, with canyon views, native oaks and open ridgelines. The course is described as well marked and laid out on a loop that returns to the start/finish area.
An aid station is located at the start/finish line offering water, soda, electrolytes and snacks such as watermelon, chips and Thunderbird Bars. A separate water station is provided at the highest point on the course. Multiple vendors will be onsite and a live Bluegrass band will perform in the morning. Awards are presented at the start/finish area after the end of the race. Spectators are welcome. An afterparty is held at Hops and Spokes Brewery in Yucaipa.
