The Wrath of Krampus: Last Person Standing
The Wrath of Krampus is a Last Person Standing race held in Yucaipa, CA on December 11, 2026. The event is organized by Yucaipa Adventure Company and takes place on foothill trails near Yucaipa.
Runners must complete a 4.167 mile loop each hour. At the end of each hour a bell signals the end of the lap; participants who do not finish the loop before the bell are removed from the race. The format continues with successive hourly laps until only one participant remains.
The event takes place overnight. Participants use headlamps as the course progresses into darkness. A basecamp area provides warmth, firelight, and verbal encouragement between laps. Camping is available on a limited basis.
The overall emphasis is on the hourly loop format and continuous elimination rather than on a fixed total distance. The route follows a measured loop on local trails and is run repeatedly by remaining competitors until the event concludes with a single finisher.
