The Wrath of Krampus: Last Person Standing
The Wrath of Krampus is a Last Person Standing race in Yucaipa, CA, organized by Yucaipa Adventure Company. The event uses a repeated loop format in which runners must complete a timed loop each hour to continue.
Each hour, participants must complete a 4.167 mile loop and return to the start before the bell rings again. Those who do not finish the loop before the bell, or who choose to stop, are removed from the competition. The course runs through foothill terrain and is conducted overnight; runners use headlamps as the race progresses into darkness.
Basecamp provides a place with warmth, firelight, and verbal encouragement for those on the course, though those comforts are temporary between laps. A mapped route for the loop is provided on Strava. Limited camping spots are available nearby at Five Winds Camping.
