Wild Blossom Wine Run 5K
The event is a chip timed 5K run/walk held at Wild Blossom Meadery & Winery in Chicago. The course starts and finishes at the winery and follows a path through Dan Ryan Woods. The course is described as flat with no hills.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T‑shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, and a race bib. Participants receive a pour of wine at the finish; minors may participate but will not receive the wine glass or a glass of wine. Results are posted online and timing is provided by a chip system.
Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each age category. The categories listed are 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 & over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. Age group medals are available only on race day and may be picked up shortly after the first wave.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday April 9 from 6 to 8 pm at the winery; race day pickup is also available. Strollers and walking are permitted though strollers are not recommended because of uneven ground. Dogs are not allowed on site. The named charity partner is the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation.
