Wicked Wine Run - Bates Nut Farm
The Wicked Wine Run takes place at the historic Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, San Diego. This scenic venue, established in 1921, features a landscape filled with oak trees and historic farm structures. The event combines athletic activity with wine tasting, offering participants the choice of a run or a walk through the property. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older to participate or enter as spectators.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 5 km run or walk
- 1 km tasting walk
- combined 5 km and 1 km package
The 5 km course is designated for both runners and walkers, with participants lining up in waves based on pace. This route includes two water stations and concludes with a glass of wine and a finisher medal. The 1 km tasting walk is a shorter, relaxed route that features three sampling stations along the course, followed by a fourth tasting at the finish line.
The event includes an after-party featuring a dance contest, costume contests, and food trucks. Participants receive an event shirt, a souvenir wine glass, and a race bib. Spectator tickets are available for those who wish to access the festivities and purchase wine without participating in the timed events. Parking is available on-site for a fee, and participants have various options for collecting their race packets, including race day pickup or mail delivery.
