About the race
Lunatic Loop is a timed trail event offering six hour and twelve hour options on December 12, 2026, in Ramona, CA. The event is organized by San Diego Ultra Running Friends for its membership.
The course is a loop of roughly 1.5 mile singletrack in the shadow of Mt. Woodson, hosted at a private residence. The route winds through boulder fields, sage brush, and remnants of an avocado orchard. Each lap includes over 300' of climbing. Runners pass a single, well stocked aid station on each lap.
Entry is limited to 50 participants and active SURF membership is required to register. The process uses an RSVP form followed by an invitation to register on UltraSignup; RSVPs after the first 50 are placed on a waitlist. Registration is open until December 8 while spots remain available. The listed price is $XX.XX, including taxes and fees. No refunds, transfers, or deferrals are allowed.
Race day will use two start waves to accommodate participants. Parking volunteers will assist and participants are asked to arrive about 30 minutes before their start to pick up bibs. Food will be served throughout the day with hot and cold options plus some vegetarian and gluten free choices. Event swag will be available.
