Event overview
‘A Charlie Brown Christmas 5K/10K’ is a themed run/walk held on Saturday, December 20th at Kit Carson Park in Escondido, CA (3333 Bear Valley Pkwy). The event is part of the Peanuts Event Series and is an officially licensed Peanuts® event. Distance options include:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles; described as a double loop of the 5K)
- Snoopy Kids Dash (untimed, ages 1–12)
- At-Home Virtual 5K/10K
All participants receive a participant bib, a performance tech t-shirt, and a finisher medal. 5K/10K bibs include an RFID tag for on-course tracking. The event lists a maximum field of 2,500 registration spots and names Make-A-Wish as its charitable partner; a portion of proceeds will go to that nonprofit.
Logistics and race-day information
The start/finish area is on the north side of Kit Carson Park; an inflatable start and finish structure will mark the course. Mile markers will be placed at each mile. Water will be available at two locations on the route and at the start/finish. A medic will be on-site in the staging area. Parking is available at the park and the adjacent Escondido Mall, including accessible parking. There will be no event-day gear check. Packet pickup is scheduled at two retail locations in the days before the event. Awards are planned for overall and age-group finishers across standard categories. Participants must finish within a 120-minute timeframe. Animals, skates, and other vehicular apparatus are not allowed on the course.
