Wichita State Engineering 5K
The Wichita State Engineering 5K is the sixth annual 5K run/walk held on February 27, 2027 on the Wichita State University Innovation Campus near 1800 Innovation Blvd, Wichita, KS 67260. The course is USTAF-certified and is presented as part of National Engineering Week.
The event is organized into participant categories with specific eligibility and fees: current WSU students (registration fee $15), community members (registration fee $40; a discount is available for participants 17 years or younger), current WSU faculty and staff (registration fee $30), and WSU alumni (registration fee $30). Registration windows open in August 2026 and close on February 20, 2027 for the listed categories. Participants receive a shirt and a race medal. Awards are presented for the top three male and top three female finishers within each category; an awards ceremony with snacks and water follows the race.
A referral program offers a discount after five friends register using a participant's unique referral link: students receive $10 off and community members, alumni, and faculty/staff receive $15 off. Proceeds from the event are donated to the College of Engineering to support students financially.
