Whitney's Race 2026
Whitney's Race is an annual Halloween running event organized by the Whitney Marsh Foundation at the Fort Smith Bakery District in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The event combines road running with a family-focused festival along the Arkansas River, and it supports pancreatic cancer research, patient assistance, and awareness efforts.
The course starts at the Bakery District and runs alongside the Arkansas River, passing the Fort Smith National Historic Site, Belle Isle Park, the Fort Smith Trolley Museum, and the United States Marshals Museum. The day includes a festival with live performances by local schools and bands, a vendor village with food trucks and shopping, costume activities, face painting, obstacle courses, and games for children. Costumes are encouraged.
Listed entry fees include $30 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K, and $25 for a supporting spectator. Early bird pricing ends September 22, 2026. The foundation reports more than 5,000 event participants historically and has awarded over $500,000 in hospital grants; the 2026 fundraising goal is $50,000.
Practical information notes downtown parking options near the Bakery District, rain or shine operation with severe weather updates provided by the organizers, and packet pickup on the day before and the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
