VFW 6527 Run/Walk for Warriors 5K
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harris-Hannah Post 6527 in Greenwood, Arkansas, will host a chipped-timed 5K run/walk on October 24, 2026. The event meeting location is the VFW post at 305 E Center St and the starting point is at the Coal Miner s Memorial next to First National Bank. The course crosses Bell Road, passes behind the high school, continues down Main Street, and finishes at Town Square. Organizers will place course markers and staff turns, and a map will be posted before the event.
All monies raised will be used to assist local veterans in need. Typical forms of assistance described include help with utility bills, groceries, rides to appointments, and repairs. The race timing will be handled by Jaymax Race Timing Services and volunteers will be present along the route.
Participants will receive medals; top-place medals will be awarded in different age categories. T-shirts are allocated to the first 250 registrants. Additional placement medals will be awarded for fastest and cutest dog costume in first through third places. Registration reflects a stated fee of $25.00.
