White Light Mile - Fremont, Nebraska
The White Light Mile is an evening road-mile event held in downtown Fremont that uses a USATF-certified, chip-timed course. The route is a two-loop, pancake-flat course that passes buildings lined with white lights and finishes at Five-O-Five Brewing Company, 349 N Main St.
The event includes both competitive and family-oriented elements. Distances offered:
- 1 mile on a certified, chip-timed course
- 1/2 mile family fun run presented by RVR Bank, non-competitive with a costume finisher medal
Run Nebraska and USATF Nebraska designate the event as the state Road Mile Championship for 2025. Competitive fields are organized into multiple waves, with heat assignments managed by the organizer. Elite men’s and women’s fields conclude the main event.
Prize structure includes overall and age-group awards. Overall male and female winners receive specified prize money, with additional bonuses for men breaking four minutes and women breaking five minutes, subject to championship conditions. Age-group winners are eligible for prize awards. Prize eligibility requires USATF membership.
Participants receive a swag bag and a post-race food ticket. The course is designed to be spectator-friendly, with on-course cheer stations and entertainment. Packet pick-up is offered in two sessions, including an evening-before option at Five-O-Five Brewing Company. All registrations are final; refunds are not provided unless the organizer determines the event is unsafe or logistically impractical. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
