Fremont Family YMCA Turkey Trot
The Fremont Family YMCA holds an annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Fremont, NE. The event raises funds to support youth programs, childcare services, senior wellness initiatives, and financial assistance so that everyone can access the YMCA regardless of ability to pay.
Participants can choose among the following course options:
- 1 mile family walk
- 2 mile run
- 5 mile run
The 2 mile and 5 mile runs will be chip-timed by run nebraska. Awards include top overall male and female finishers and the top two finishers in each age group: 10 and under; 11 to 13; 14 to 17; 18 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; and 60 and over. The top male and female in the 5 mile race each receive $100. Medals are handed out for the top two in each age category, with announcements made inside the YMCA after the race.
The course starts at the Fremont Family YMCA; runners travel east on 16th Avenue and return to the Y, with the 5 mile route extending to the JCAC and back. Timing services are provided by run nebraska. The event is held rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe, and there are no refunds.
Registration pricing varies by distance and registration window. T-shirt guarantees depend on registration date. Pre-race packet pick-up is available beginning Tuesday, November 25 and on race day; participants are encouraged to pick up packets early due to event size. Results are emailed to registrants who provided an email and are posted online. Sponsors include Fremont Electric as presenting sponsor and Fremont Roofing as hospitality sponsor among others.
