The Bones Run 5K
The Bones Run is a night time themed 5K held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Standing Bear Lake in Omaha, NE. The event is hosted by the Omaha Running Club and uses moonlit trails at Standing Bear Lake (132nd Street and Papio Lake 16 Rd N, first parking lot; north entrance on 132nd Street south of Military Rd). The course is an out and back dark route with a water stop on course; participants are encouraged to use headlights.
Entry includes registration, a t shirt, glow necklaces, and an invitation to the after party. The after party takes place at Legends Patio Grill and Bar (6910 North 102nd Circle, Omaha, NE) with appetizers and a refreshment coupon for each participant. The awards ceremony begins at 8:30 pm and will present Overall Male and Female awards plus age group awards. Costume awards are also given.
The minimum age is 18 years unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. No pets are allowed on the race course. Packet pick up and late registration are available race day only from 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm at the Standing Bear Lake north parking lot. T shirts are not guaranteed after 10-15-2026. The event is capped at 250 participants.
