The Bones Run 5K
The Bones Run 5K is a nighttime running event held on October 23, 2026, at Standing Bear Lake in Omaha, Nebraska. The course is an out and back route along moonlit trails that the organizer describes as a "dark" course; a water stop will be provided along the route and participants are encouraged to use headlights. The run covers a distance of 5K.
Entry includes race registration, a t-shirt, glow necklaces, and an invitation to an after-party at Legends Patio Grill and Bar (6910 North 102nd Circle, Omaha, NE) where appetizers and a refreshment coupon are provided to each participant. Awards will be presented to the Overall Male and Female finishers and in age group categories. Costume wear is encouraged and there are awards for best costumes.
The event is hosted by the Omaha Running Club and will use the north entrance on 132nd Street south of Military Road at the first parking lot of the lake. The minimum age is 18 years unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. No pets are allowed on the race course. Participant numbers will be capped at 250. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations completed after 10-15-2026. Packet pickup and any late registration take place on race day at the event parking area.
