Whistling Death 5K and 10K
This event includes two distance options: 5 km and 10 km. The race commemorates the F4U Corsair of World War II, a fighter nicknamed "Whistling Death" by the Japanese, and notes that many Corsair pilots trained in Green Cove Springs.
Entry fees vary by date: through June 30 the fee is $30; August 1 to August 31 the fee is $35; starting September 1 the fee is $40. Entry fees as shown on the registration site include server fees. There are no refunds or transfers.
Registration is available online through the event registration site and in person at any 1st Place Sports store using in-store computers. Packet pickup is available at the 1st Place Sports Baymeadows store on Friday, October 3 from 10 AM to 5 PM. All unclaimed packets will be moved to the race site for race day pick up beginning one hour before the race.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. The course runs across the roads and runways of the former airbase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
