Whistling Death 5K and 10K
Whistling Death 5K and 10K takes place at the Military Museum of North Florida in Green Cove Springs on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

The race celebrates the F4U Corsair of World War II, a fighter nicknamed "Whistling Death" by the Japanese. The aircraft was a primary Marine Corps fighter in the Pacific and many of its pilots trained in Green Cove Springs.
The course runs across the roads and runways of the old airbase. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal.
Entry fees for both distances vary by registration date: $30 through June 30, $35 from August 1 to August 31, and $40 starting September 1. Entry fees shown on the registration site include server fees. There are no refunds or transfers.
Registration is available online and in person at 1st Place Sports stores. Packet pickup is available at the 1st Place Sports Baymeadows store on Friday, October 2 from 10AM - 4PM. Any unclaimed packets will be moved to the race site for pick up beginning one hour before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
