Whistling Death 5K and 10K
The event offers two road race distances held at the Military Museum of North Florida in Green Cove Springs on Saturday, October 3, 2026. It commemorates the F4U Corsair of World War II, a fighter nicknamed "Whistling Death," and notes that many of the aircraft pilots trained in Green Cove Springs.

Entry fees vary by registration date: $30 through June 30, $35 from August 1 to August 31, and $40 starting September 1. The registration price shown on the registration site includes server fees. The organizer states there are no refunds or transfers.
Registration is available online and in person at 1st Place Sports stores. Packets are available for pickup at the 1st Place Sports Baymeadows store on the Friday before the race, with any unclaimed packets moved to the race site for race day pickup beginning one hour before the event.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. The course runs across the roads and runways of the former airbase. A video of the airplane in action is referenced by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
