Hellcat 10K and 5K
The event offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course uses Historic Lee Field at the Military Museum of North Florida in Green Cove Springs. The route is an out-and-back around the perimeter of the old base and follows a mix of pavement and dirt roads. The surface is described as free of roots and rocks. Runners pass through cypress swamp areas with local wildlife reported, including alligators, deer, and bear.
Race services include chip timing, aid and water stations placed approximately every 1.5 miles, finishers medals for all 5 km and 10 km finishers, and a technical shirt for participants. Packets are available for pickup at the Baymeadows 1st Place Sports store on the Friday before the event and are moved to the race site for day of event pickup beginning one hour before the race. Registration fees increase after December 31 and there are no refunds. A two hour time limit applies to both distances.
The event functions as a fundraiser for the Military Museum of North Florida, a 501(c)(3). The museum offers free entrance to runners and their families on January 18. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
