Event details
The Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026 and starts and finishes at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield, near Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The event is organised to raise funds on behalf of Wharfedale RUFC, a community rugby club and member of RFU National League 2 North. The club provides facilities free on the day and the event is run with voluntary marshals.
Race format and entry
The race is a 13.2 mile trail event, flagged throughout the course, and organised under UK Athletics and Trail Runners Association rules. The route follows established footpaths, including the Dalesway and Mastiles Lane, and includes ascents totaling over 2,000 feet. Views are available from locations such as Scott Gate, Mastiles and Boss Moor. The event uses the SPORTident timing system; race numbers and timing cards are issued on the day.
Entries open 21 November 2025 and close 3 June 2026. The minimum age is 18. Entry fees are £20 (standard), rising to £25 from 01/02/2026 and £30 from 01/05/2026. A £2 discount applies for affiliated athletes (UKA/TRA). Prize provision is over £800, including course-record awards, an event memento and spot prizes.
