Event overview

The Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026. The event is a trail race of 13.2 miles that starts and finishes at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield, near Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is organised on behalf of Wharfedale RUFC and uses volunteer marshals and clubhouse facilities provided by the rugby club.

Course and rules

The course is fully flagged and has over 2,000 feet of ascent. The route follows well established footpaths, including the Dalesway and Mastiles Lane, and passes Scott Gate, Mastiles and Boss Moor. The race is organised under UK Athletics and Trail Runners Association rules. The SPORTident timing system will be used; race numbers and timing cards are issued on the day.

Entries, age limits and prizes

Entries open on 21 November 2025 and close on 3 June 2026. Minimum age is 18 (relative to the start of year 2026). Entry fees are: £20.00 initially, £25.00 from 01/02/2026 and £30.00 from 01/05/2026. A £2 discount applies for affiliated athletes (UKA/TRA). Prizes include course record prizes, an event memento and spot prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
