Sir Titus Summer Trot
The Sir Titus Summer Trot is a trail running event held in the world heritage village of Saltaire. The course follows the canal towpath, providing a route that is primarily flat and even. The races are licensed by the Trail Running Association and include both off-road sections and potential unmarshalled road crossings.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- 10 Miles
- Half Marathon
- 20 Miles
- Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
The event is designed to be cup-less, and runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups or bottles for use at the feed stations, which are located approximately every three miles. These stations provide both drinks and a selection of food. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a variety of edible treats.
The start and finish area is located near Salts Mill and the canal. Facilities include toilets at the start and finish, and registration opens early on the morning of the event. For those traveling by public transport, Saltaire train station is located within a two minute walk of the start line. Those arriving by car can find parking in Saltaire village or near Titus Salt School, though council charges may apply.
The event organizers discourage the use of large over-ear headphones to ensure runners can hear marshals and other route users. Bone-conducting earphones or "one in one out" in-ear pieces are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
