West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL) 2026-27
The West Yorkshire Winter League is a team and individual trail series held across West Yorkshire over six races from November to January. A season pass priced at £20 grants entry to all six races. The league is organised for affiliated club members and entry is limited to fully paid-up members of the member clubs.
- 5 - 6 Miles
Courses are trail terrain with hilly profiles and consist of single laps. The event uses chip timing. The licence is held with the Trail Running Association. The races are not suitable for wheelchairs and the organiser states the courses are not suitable for blind runners.
Seventeen clubs make up the league, including Baildon Runners, Dewsbury RR, Pudsey Pacers, South Leeds Lakers, Stainland Lions and others. Competitors must be aged 17 or over and affiliated to England Athletics or British Triathlon to take part. Individual awards are given for top three male and female runners and across open and age categories; team awards include male, female, vets (35+) super vets (50+) and overall teams. A rule prevents one athlete winning two awards where the top three male or female award takes priority.
Facilities at race venues vary; toilets are listed but there is no water, no showers, no changing or baggage storage and no distance markers. Dogs are not allowed, headphones follow EA guidelines, and there are no refunds deferrals or transfers. Competitors enter at their own risk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
